Purpose of the role
The role is to support the day-to-day running of warehouse operations at Ceres Production site in Redhill, ensuring efficient material handling, accurate inventory control, and a consistent flow of goods to production. The role involves booking all materials received on site into the MRP system, preparing and packaging goods for customer shipments, and kitting internal production orders while maintaining excellent inventory accuracy. You will be responsible for loading and unloading delivery vehicles (using a forklift truck or manually), sorting and moving stock within the warehouse, and ensuring all stock is received, counted, checked, and recorded correctly within the MRP system. You will liaise with the accounts department to resolve booking-in and invoicing queries, support the kitting of materials to production work orders, and manage Kanban-based delivery of materials to production areas.
Regular communication with the Test department at the Horsham site is required to maintain material flow, alongside adherence to work instructions for correct storage, packaging, and export of finished goods. The role requires full compliance with all Health & Safety practices in line with warehouse risk assessments and procedures and may also involve occasional driving of a company electric van to support inter-site material transfers. While primarily based in Redhill, there may be an ad hoc requirement to work at the Horsham warehouse for up to two days per week on an exceptional basis, therefore the ability to travel between sites is desirable.
Knowledge and skills required for the role:
· Previous experience of warehouse or stores work, in a busy environment
· Full UK driving licence
· Computer literate, experienced with MRP data entry
· Experience with Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level
· Ability to work to deadlines with excellent attention to detail
· Able to build positive working relationships, collaborating effectively with colleagues while also demonstrating the initiative and self-motivation required to work independently when needed
· Awareness of health and safety issues (additional training will be given).
· Forklift truck licence preferred, forklift driving experience essential (training can be provided).
· Role is based at Redhill but working at Horsham may be required.
