Senior Manufacturing Engineer
We have two exciting opportunities for Senior Manufacturing Engineers within our Stack Engineering team. These roles are critical to driving operational excellence and innovation in stack production. You’ll be the voice of manufacturing for your respective function—either Repeat Unit or Balance of Stack—and play a key role in tooling design, process specification, and verification.
You’ll collaborate cross-functionally, share expertise, and influence best practices internally and with external partners to minimise production costs at scale and maximise product quality. Expect to lead strategic initiatives, guide others through complex challenges, and contribute to high-visibility projects that shape our manufacturing strategy.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Own tooling design and process specifications, ensuring verification and compliance
- Lead and support cross-functional design reviews and risk assessments (PFMEA, DFM/A, DRBFM)
- Drive continuous improvement using Six Sigma, Lean principles, and SPC frameworks (Cp/Cpk, gauge R&R)
- Analyse and optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Facilities, Supply Chain, and Quality teams
- Mentor colleagues, lead problem-solving activities using 8D methodology, and champion innovation
- Engage with suppliers to resolve manufacturing issues and improve component quality and delivery
- Operate autonomously, guiding others in resolving complex issues and proposing process improvements
What You’ll Bring:
- BEng/MEng in Mechanical, Chemical, Process Engineering, or related field
- Several years’ proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a relevant industry
- Expertise in CAD (ideally Creo), product data management tools (DDM preferred), and GD&T standards (BS 8888)
- Strong communicator, able to influence and collaborate at all levels internally and externally
- Experience deploying Six Sigma and Lean principles
- Proficiency in SPC frameworks and KPI-driven environments
- Ability to lead risk assessments and mentor others in structured problem-solving
- Creative thinker with a proactive, autonomous approach
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and PPM tracking systems
If you’re ready to take ownership of manufacturing excellence and help us deliver world-leading clean energy technology, we’d love to hear from you.
