At Ceres, we’re looking for a Facilities Engineer to play a critical role in maintaining and improving our business-critical infrastructure, utilities, and facilities at our Horsham site—with occasional travel to other locations.
As a key member of the Facilities team, you’ll be responsible for overseeing site repairs, ensuring safe and timely maintenance, and managing TPM activities across compressors, chillers, gas detection systems, HVAC, utility supply, and other essential equipment. You’ll lead improvement projects, monitor contractor performance, and identify opportunities to boost reliability, cost-efficiency, and performance using KPIs like MTBF and MTTR.
This hands-on role also involves electrical and mechanical installations, responding to emergencies outside normal hours when needed, and driving continuous improvement across all systems.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Own and maintain critical infrastructure and utilities across the Horsham site
- Oversee site repairs and ensure safe, prompt maintenance
- Manage TPM activities and ensure equipment is up to date
- Monitor contractor performance across quality, cost, and delivery
- Lead improvement projects for new and existing facilities equipment
- Use KPIs (MTBF, MTTR) to drive performance and reliability
- Carry out electrical and mechanical installations where appropriate
- Support emergency response and operational needs outside normal hours
- Create and maintain tools and processes to support effective communication across all sites
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and root cause analysis skills
- Electrical and/or mechanical awareness and understanding
- Experience in TPM and KPI-driven environments
- Familiarity with HVAC, BMS, compressors, clean rooms, and similar systems
- A safety-first mindset and ability to lead by example
- Understanding of business objectives and alignment of work to strategic goals
- Collaborative team player with strong stakeholder engagement
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to monitor and improve plant reliability and performance
- Skilled in solving complex problems and proposing process improvements
- Advanced expertise developed through training and hands-on experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Helpdesk, and PPM tracking systems
If you're ready to take ownership of the systems that support a world-leading clean energy company, we’d love to hear from you.
